Ms. Lena Kelekian – a pioneer in the world of art and painting

Being the voice of Lebanese abroad, Sawt Al Intishar is introducing Ms. Lena Kelekian, a name that speaks for itself. Being a pioneer in the world of art and painting, Lena put Lebanon on the international map. She represented Lebanon in Beijing Olympic Fine Arts winning the Gold medal and Olympic Torch. And since 2 are always better than 1, she grabbed the gold medal as well in the London Olympics Fine Arts. Her paintings are exhibited in 30 museums worldwide, and many are acquitted by the Queen Sophia of Spain, Prince Nahyan Moubarak Al Nahyan of UAE, patriarchs, ambassadors, celebrities and many public figures. Her passion did not end here. In order to help her community, Kelekian restored many public gardens for the unprivileged, and then founded an NGO “MEADOW (Mediterranean Endeavors Advancing Development of Widespread Sustainability). She raised public awareness through a series of lectures, seminars, exhibitions, and workshops with professionals in every field of the activity, helping traumatized children overcome their traumas after the Lebanese War in 2006, and the events of Nahr Al Bared. Moreover, after the blast of August 4 that destroyed our beloved Capital, Lena was present once again to help her community rise from the ashes. She drew an Icon and sold it in an auction. All the proceeds were donated to help people rebuild their homes. In all these difficult times, Lena was always present to send a message of solidarity through her art that connects people together no matter the obstacles faced. At the end of the day, one can’t find stability without solidarity.
